I just finished watching a video of 18 year old Adam
Horwitz who explained step by step how he was able
to build a list of 20k in less than a month.

Now get this…

He did it ALL with mobile advertising.. Yah I mean
literally advertising on cell phones. It’s such a HUGE
market and for some strange reason no one does it yet!

Here’s something crazy.. There’s over 5 billion people
walking around with cell phones as we speak.

… Yes, I said FIVE BILLION.

There’s only like 1.8 billion who actively use the Internet.

This is the future and Adam is revealing exactly
how to jump on board right now.

“Robert Rodriguez Presents Predators”!

Robert Rodriguez Presents Predators is based on the upcoming movie of the same name, and it was developed by the folks at Angry Mob, who made Guerrilla Bob, one of the better dual-stick shooters on the App Store. Predators is a universal app too, so one purchase lets you play the game in native resolution your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. Not a bad deal, considering that most games based on movie licenses cost more than Predators and split their iPhone and iPad versions into two separate apps.

You’re a murderous alien, and you tear the insides out of puny humans one after another. Normally such behavior would be a no-no, but it’s permitted here for several reasons: 1) they’re on your planet, 2) they’re trying to kill you, and 3) back on Earth they’re criminals who did very bad things. Really, they had it coming.

The game consists of 24 missions that pit you against swarms of armed and angry criminals. How thousands of humans ended up on the predators’ faraway planet is anyone’s guess. All you need to know is that the bad guys are here and they’re out for your lime-green blood. The main characters from the movie, Royce, Stans, Cuchillo, and Isabelle, make up the bosses in the game, and with some quick thumbs and a dash of skill, you’ll have their heads on pikes before the day is done.

To help you in your massacring, you’re equipped with a number of weapons that can be purchased and upgraded as you progress through the game. Making kills, completing missions, and severing heads nets you honor points that you spend in the game’s shop, where the weapons gradually become unlocked as you progress.

And quite a progression it is. Practically the entire first half of the game feels like a tutorial, as each mission walks you through how to use a particular weapon or combo in your arsenal. It feels strange that you should still be learning how to play the game an hour in, but that’s how it is. You can use guns, claws, and combi sticks; you can cloak yourself and turn on thermal vision; and you can perform combos and brutal fatalities. Control-wise there’s a ton to learn, and they teach you gradually so it’s not difficult to pick up.

The only issue we have is that when you initiate a decapitation or a body split, those actions take time to complete, leaving you vulnerable and unable to get away if your health starts to drop. This adds strategy to the game, but it becomes frustrating if you die because of it when you’re close to beating a longer level.Another issue is that the environments are all similar to one another.

But the cons are overshadowed by the game’s excellent use of the source material. While we would have preferred a little more environmental variety and fewer tutorial levels, we had a great time with Predators. There’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing your dreadlocked alien rip off an enemy’s head, hold it up impaled on his claw, and let out a loud, guttural war cry. This is a Predator game that will make fans very happy.

The Upward Inflection Curve In Mobile App Development

Uncategorized | Wednesday June 23 2010 6:58 am | Comments (0) Tags:

Over the last 3 years there has been an unprecedented growth in the use of Smart Phone. This explosive growth has been lead by the iPhone with the iPhone Apps being the core basis for its appeal. In the next few months having a Smart Phone like an iPhone, Android or BB will become as essential as owning a home computer or even having cable tv.

Today the App store boasts 150,000 Apps and counting. The App store crossed the 1 billionth download in July 2009. Considering that Apple launched its App Store in July of 2008 and the 1 billionth download mark was crossed in just under a year and this number is nothing short of mind blogging. At the posting of this article the App Store had an estimated 3 billion+ downloads.

The typical user is interested in Apps in the price range of $0.99 to $9.99 and considering that there are over 33.75 million iPhones sold to date the number of users that can potentially download the app and the potential profit at selling an app even for $0.99 is significant.

The Android and Blackberry are not far behind and both have their own Market Place and a growing portfolio of Apps. On March 17 2010 the Leading technology blog MobileCrunch  reported that the number of applications in the Android Market Place has crossed the 30000 mark. That’s more than double what was available in December. HTC and Motorola that run Android, plan to launch 15 new phone in the coming months to meet the demand. In March 2010 Blackberry maker Research in Motion (RIMM) announced a spike in its sale of phones for the fourth quarter of 2009 signaling a strong demand for the ever popular Blackberry.

Such staggering numbers cannot be ignored and the App market growth has been nothing short of super exponential. Note that the above numbers are coming in primarily from the US market and one has as yet not fully tapped the 2 billion of the world’s population in India and China with its emerging upper middle class eager to own a Smartphone for its Status symbol and Utility.

The question is how can one position themselves correctly so as to ride this exponential upward inflection curve one sees in the Mobile App Industry.

Small and Midsized software development firms are best positioned to quickly upgrade their resource pool and cash in on the ever increasing demand of developing new apps for the App Store.

A-1 Technology New York has already recognized this upward trend. Over the last several months A-1 Technology has steadily increased its iPhone resource pool and now boasts a large Portfolio of Apps on the App store with several of these Apps being in the Top 25 and Featured on the App Store and PC Mag. The company has created a spin off division called MobileProgramming that focuses primarily on Mobile Apps.

For a complete portfolio of app developed by A-1 Technology New York refer to the following link.

How would large companies get in on the action and make sure they are not left behind using legacy based technology. Part of the reason Large companies cannot get in on the action is Corporate Inertia and the time it takes a large organization to make a decision. The following are the suggested alternatives for Large companies to ensure that they are part of this Mobile App growth.

Create a separate division within the Organization that focuses on the emerging Mobile App sector.
Acquire a well established company that has a proven track record of High Quality B2B and B2C Apps on the App store.
Outsource the Mobile software development to a preferred vendor like A-1 Technology that has over the last several months invested and developed core expertise in the Mobile App sector.
In the last several months we have already seen several large fortune 500 companies like Disney, Novartis etc.  are including A-1 Technology on their preferred vendor list for Mobile Software Development.

In the coming months we are sure this trend will continue as we continue to see the extraordinary growth in B2B and B2C apps.

You Can’t Ignore Mobile Video….

Uncategorized | Friday April 2 2010 11:07 am | Comments (0)

With smart phone usage rising steadily both in the U.S. and worldwide there’s been a lot of buzz about mobile video lately. Whether they’re viewing graphics, playing games, watching movies or short snippets of shows, cell phone users are gravitating to a medium that most marketers have yet to tap.

According to Nielsen’s Three Screen Report for the first quarter of 2009, the 13.4 million Americans (up 52 percent from 2008) who watch videos on their phones view an average of 3-1/2 hours of mobile video every month. The research firm says the growth stems from increased mobile content and the rise of the mobile web as a viewing option.

“Smart phones and data plans are more affordable than ever,” says Catrina Sheridan, vice president of products and marketing at dotMobi, a U.K.-based mobile Internet services firm, “and consumers are developing a familiarity and comfort with mobile content via their handsets. These factors make mobile video very attractive for marketers.”

Here are six key trends that are unfolding right now in the mobile video world that you don’t want to miss:

iPhone users are leading the charge: Equipped with a YouTube app right on its welcome screen, the iPhone put mobile video on the map when it made its debut in 2008. With its original model now priced at $99, expect the iPhone to boost the number of mobile video users even further. “By the holiday season we expect to see a lot more consumers being able to view videos on their cell phones,” says Eyal Yechezkell, CEO at New York-based Predicto Mobile, which touts itself as the largest “paid” mobile community.

Mobile video isn’t “one size fits all”: Not all phone models support the same video format, nor does all video appear “correctly” on the hundreds of different smart phones available on the market today. “Be sure the footage you shoot is supported by the audience you’re going after,” advises Sheridan. “You don’t want to create content for an iPhone audience in a format that the phone can’t play.” (Test your content before publishing it by going to http://deviceatlas.com/).

Apps are gaining traction: Highly unique, with focused functionality, apps for iPhone, Palm and Blackberry users are revolutionizing the mobile experience. Just three days after its app store celebrated its one-year anniversary in July, Apple’s 65,000-strong app store hit the 1.5 billion download mark. Verizon Wireless and Sony Ericsson both threw their hats into the ring this year, with Verizon launching a carrier-branded store later this year and Sony Ericsson adding mobile apps to its PlayNow content offering.

Marketers demand more accountability: High on San Francisco-based online advertising firm 1020 Placecast’s list of “interactive advertising trends to watch right now” is the use of new, improved metrics to measure ad performance. The company points to “view-through,” a method for gauging the impact of an ad that a consumer sees but does not click on, as a particularly useful tool for users of mobile video. View-through records a consumer’s exposure to a specific display ad, and then measures when that consumer returns to the advertiser’s site during a later session. Placecast says the tool is popular among marketers who want a more accurate measurement of their mobile video efforts.

The medium plays well with others: Mobile video goes hand-in-hand with YouTube by allowing consumers to view user-generated content “on the go.” It also adapts well in the growing online social networking arena, where users share video content in a viral fashion. “Combine all of these elements,” says Sheridan, “and the end result is a huge, democratic marketing system that’s applicable for companies of all sizes.”

Handset makers are answering the call: Whereas smartphones with data capabilities were once the domain of executives and the well-off, they are now commonplace among all consumers. “Anyone using a newer phone these days can ‘consume’ any type of media, including ringtones, graphics and videos,” says Yechezkell. “As more and more of these sophisticated devices are purchased and used, marketers should be looking at how to promote their products via mobile video and/or the mobile Web.”

With consumers checking their mobile phones the minute they wake up in the morning, before they go to bed and every few minutes during the day, Yechezkell says mobile video is a medium that no marketer can afford to miss out on. To maximize their investments in this arena, he says “test, test, test…and then test again” before putting any content out there for consumers to view.

Online Casino Providers Developing Mobile Apps for iPad….

Uncategorized | Saturday March 27 2010 1:40 pm | Comments (1)

The new Apple iPad will be made available at retail stores on April 3rd. Online casino
providers are aggressively developing new applications to handle online casino games
over the iPad. The iPad will support most of the iPhone applications that are already
available but online casinos hope to develop applications that will give players
a much better mobile gambling experience over the iPad. The iPad is much easier
on the eyes and is better than using a cellphone for online casino applications.

What is so exciting about the iPad is that it truly enhances the online gambling
experience. Players will be able to rub the scratch card or hit the buttons on
the video slot machine. They just touch the screen to interact with the games.

Most online casinos do not support the Mac or other Apple devices. The online
casino industry cators mostly to players that using a PC desktop or laptop.
Unfortunately, Apple iPad users won’t be able to play the downloadable
casino games, but they’ll be able to play the flash-based casino games
through their mobile device. The online casinos will definitely enhance
these games to provide a crisp and more fluid experience for iPad users.
